In many ways, Final Fantasy IX simplified things gameplay wise, contrasting its overly complex predecessor Final Fantasy VIII. Great visuals, terrific soundtrack, and a heart-warming story make Final Fantasy’s PlayStation finale one of the greatest Japanese Role-Playing Game experiences of all time. The game is the embodiment of the ‘Hironobu Sakaguchi Final Fantasy formula’ polished to perfection. I can’t praise Final Fantasy IX‘s greatness enough. That last statement shouldn’t be taken lightly, as Xenoblade Chronicles 1&2 are excellent titles in their own right. Forgiving the final ‘rushed’ disc of the game, Xenogears remains the best Xeno title of all time. The game’s musical score remains one of Yasunori Mitsuda’s best works. It ranges from turn-based party combat with casts and mechs to a cool real-time action, fully 3-D system that involves mechs in some instances. Xenogears’ battle system remains extremely fun. Xenogears was an attractive game back when it first came out (better looking than Grandia) and artwork still shines today.

Visually, the combination of 3-D backgrounds with 2-D character sprites remains eye-pleasing. Xenogears story alone makes it a worthy replay, as I don’t think JRPG stories have gotten any better since. If one can deal with its translation, which isn’t that bad for the era, its mind bending and convoluted storyline remains as good today as it was 23 years ago. In my opinion, Xenogears has aged extremely well. This list is all about games that have aged well over the past two decades and I would love to play again. Obviously I have favorites, but this is not what this list is about. Video games have been a part of my most nostalgic moments, and lately, I have been thinking about 32-bit games that I truly enjoyed and wouldn’t mind playing again today.

Players can use Dual Wield can with Triple Wield or Quad Wield, as mentioned previously, to make sure they don't suffer the negative 50% attack penalty that comes with equipping weapons in more than one hand. Ninjas have an ability called Utsusemi that lets characters dodge one physical attack. Characters can also use the Physical Attack 20% Up support skill, and Frenetic Fighting, which increases the maximum hit count from 16 to 32. Since Dual Wield applies to all these additional weapon slots, it means all four weapons won't lose 50% of the power from their attacks. Weapons can be assigned to the head, body, and hand slots. Charioteer allows a character to Triple or Quad Wield weapons as it levels up. The player will have to look for a way to deal with BP management for this pairing, such as using some Red Mage support abilities. The Pirate's Provoke works well with any of the Swordmaster's counters. Using Amped Strike with Free Lunch will allow the character to cause a lot of damage. Swordmaster and Pirate as a combination can allow for Provoke, Counter Attack, Amped Strike, and Free Lunch.
